Privacy notice

Last updated: 22 September 2026

Who we are

FIN & FANG LIMITED, trading as The Gold Standard, is responsible for deciding how your personal information is used when you use our booking page or contact us about an appointment.

Our registered address is 2nd Floor College House, 17 King Edwards Road, Ruislip, London, United Kingdom, HA4 7AE. For privacy enquiries, email [email protected].

Information we collect

When you book, we collect your name, telephone number, email address, selected county and town or village, appointment date and time, and the venue associated with your appointment. We also keep appointment status information and relevant communications you send us.

Our hosting and technology providers, including their infrastructure providers, may process technical information such as your IP address, browser details, request times and error information to deliver and protect the service. See our cookie policy for information about browser storage.

The online booking form does not ask for identity documents, bank account details or payment. If you later sell items to us, we will explain any additional information needed for that transaction.

How and why we use information

We use your booking details to arrange your requested valuation, manage availability, prevent conflicting appointments, send confirmations and appointment updates, and respond to enquiries. Our lawful basis for arranging your requested appointment is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

We rely on our legitimate interests in running a reliable service to keep systems secure, investigate errors, prevent misuse and maintain relevant customer communications. We consider the impact on your privacy when doing so. Where we must keep or disclose information to meet a legal requirement, we rely on that legal obligation.

Providing the required booking details is voluntary, but we need them to process an online appointment. Walk-ins are welcome if you prefer not to prebook.

Booking does not sign you up for marketing. We will ask for a separate, active agreement before using your booking details for marketing. You can withdraw any marketing consent at any time by contacting us or using an unsubscribe option in the message; withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing.

Optional website analytics

With your analytics consent, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use this page and improve the booking experience. Clarity records interactions such as clicks, scrolling and navigation and provides heatmaps and session recordings. It receives technical information, including page URLs, browser and device details and network information. Campaign links can help us compare traffic sources.

We mask the booking form, confirmation and appointment messages in recordings. Our custom analytics events describe booking stages and broad error types; they do not include names, email addresses, phone numbers or appointment identifiers. Microsoft processes Clarity data as described in its Privacy Statement. Our integration does not grant permission to share Clarity data with Microsoft Ads.

Clarity loads only after analytics consent. You can turn it off through Cookie settings without affecting your booking. Withdrawal stops future recording from this integration; it does not delete data already sent. Microsoft’s Clarity documentation explains its data retention and access arrangements.

Advertising and external links

Our Facebook and Instagram advertisements may link to this booking page. Clicking an advertisement does not automatically give us permission to use advertising cookies on the page. The Cookie settings control shows whether optional Meta advertising measurement is available and lets you choose whether to allow it.

Where enabled and you agree, Meta Pixel receives technical information about your browser and page visit and an event when a booking succeeds, so we can measure our advertising. Meta may associate this activity with your Meta account and use it for advertising under its own policies. Our booking integration does not include your name, telephone number, email address or venue address in the event parameters. We rely on consent for this optional measurement. You can withdraw through Cookie settings; withdrawal does not undo information already sent. If advertising measurement is not enabled, this page's custom booking code does not load Meta Pixel.

Links to WhatsApp and Trustpilot take you to external services. If you choose to follow them, those services process information under their own privacy notices. Reviews on this page are displayed as text.

Who receives information

Our authorised team members receive appointment details so they can provide your valuation. ByHerd manages the booking system on our behalf. GoHighLevel provides the booking page, customer contact records, calendar and booking notifications. Vercel hosts the connection that validates form submissions and passes them to GoHighLevel; it is not a separate customer booking database.

These providers may use service providers for hosting, infrastructure and message delivery. We may also disclose information to professional advisers or public authorities where necessary to meet legal obligations or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

International processing

Our technology providers operate internationally, including in the United States, so personal information may be processed outside the UK. Where a restricted transfer takes place, an applicable UK adequacy arrangement or appropriate contractual safeguards must cover it, such as approved standard contractual clauses with the UK Addendum. Contact [email protected] for information about the safeguards applicable to your data or to request a copy.

Our hosting layer also uses Cloudflare measurement to report page performance. Cloudflare describes its Web Analytics service as measuring page performance without collecting visitors’ personal data. This is distinct from optional Meta advertising measurement. Contact us if you want to ask about the hosting service or object to any processing based on legitimate interests.

How long we keep information

We keep booking-only records for up to 12 months after the appointment, or after cancellation if the appointment does not take place. Records associated with a completed transaction may be kept for longer to meet applicable accounting or legal requirements. Information needed for a complaint or legal claim may be retained until the matter and relevant retention period have ended. We then delete or anonymise information when it is no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may ask for access to your information, correction of inaccurate details, deletion, restriction of use or a portable copy of information you supplied.

You have the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests. You can also object to direct marketing at any time.

Email [email protected] to exercise a right. We may need to verify your identity. Rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions. We normally respond within one month. If the law allows an extension for a complex request, we will explain why.

You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ or by calling 0303 123 1113. You do not have to contact us first, although we welcome the opportunity to resolve your concern.

We do not use this booking form to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Changes

We will update this notice when the booking service or our use of information changes. The date above identifies the latest version.

About this policy

This policy covers cookies and similar browser technologies used by the booking experience at book.thegoldstandard.uk. FIN & FANG LIMITED, trading as The Gold Standard, is responsible for the booking service. Contact [email protected] for questions.

Booking and privacy preferences

The custom booking form holds your county, town, date and time selections in the open page while you book. It does not save those details to cookies or local storage. When you submit, it sends your details to the booking service as described in our privacy notice.

When you save your privacy choices, we set a cookie called tgs_privacy on this booking domain. It remembers your choices for optional analytics and advertising measurement and the version of those choices. It contains no name, email address or telephone number. It expires after 180 days. This preference cookie is necessary to remember and respect your choice, and it is set for both acceptance and rejection.

The cookie banner also uses cookie-config and cookie-categories to remember your overall cookie preferences. The controls in Cookie settings keep your analytics and advertising preferences in sync with these cookies. Saving those controls keeps your other selected categories and stores the updated preferences for up to 180 days.

Hosting and external resources

GoHighLevel and its infrastructure deliver the page. The hosting layer loads a Cloudflare measurement script that reports page performance. Cloudflare describes Web Analytics as measuring page performance without collecting visitors’ personal data. The page also requests fonts and images from external providers. Their servers receive technical connection information such as an IP address when serving those resources.

Security features used by hosting providers may vary between requests. This policy will be updated when the technologies used by the service change.

Optional Microsoft Clarity analytics

With analytics consent, Microsoft Clarity helps us understand page use through heatmaps, session recordings and booking-stage events. Its first-party cookies include _clck, which remembers a browser identifier and preferences, and _clsk, which links page views into a session. Microsoft may also use its own cookies when your browser contacts its services. See Microsoft’s Clarity cookie information and Privacy Statement for details.

Our custom code does not request Clarity before analytics consent. Contact inputs, booking confirmation details and appointment messages are masked in recordings. Analytics consent is separate from Meta advertising consent, and our integration keeps Microsoft Ads consent denied.

Optional Meta advertising measurement

Optional Meta measurement is off by default. The Cookie settings panel shows whether it is available. If it is available, accepting allows Meta Pixel to measure page visits and successful bookings. Rejecting leaves it off, and you can still book normally.

Meta Pixel can use identifiers such as _fbp and _fbc to recognise a browser and associate a visit with an advertisement. Meta may also use its own cookies when your browser contacts its services. These are advertising technologies, and our custom integration only loads them after you agree. See Meta’s cookie information at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policies/cookies/ for its current cookie purposes and retention information.

Our integration does not send the fields you type into the booking form as Meta event parameters. Accepting advertising cookies does not subscribe you to marketing emails or messages.

Change or withdraw your choice

Open Cookie settings in the footer at any time. Change either checkbox and select Save choices, or select Reject optional measurement to turn off both Clarity and Meta measurement. Other cookie categories are preserved. This stops future measurement from these integrations and attempts to remove their accessible first-party cookies. We cannot remove cookies owned by another website; you can clear them using your browser settings. Withdrawal does not undo information already sent.

If you delete or block the privacy preference cookie, your browser may ask you to choose again. You can also manage cookies through your browser; blocking necessary storage may affect how choices are remembered.

Contact and rights

Email [email protected] for privacy or cookie enquiries. Our privacy notice explains your data protection rights and how to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
